2010 National Rankings
The club had it’s most successful season yet, with 20-30 riders attending most of the Nationals. The following list is of all the riders who achieved the coveted ‘top 8’ ranking.
Ewan Towle 6th in 7yrs
Taylor Johnson 6th in 9 yrs
Lewis Locker 4th in 10 yrs
Louis Gray-Blest 5th in 11 yrs
Ben Carnill 5th in 12 yrs
Harry Gray-Blest 5th in 13 yrs
Josh Tucker 3rd in 14 yrs
Michael Njuguna 6th in 14 yrs
Brad Spick 8th in 14 yrs
Jordan Perry 2nd in 16 yrs
Trinity Camm 8th in female 7-8 yrs
Nicole Edge 7th in female 11-12 yrs
Fraser Dudley 6th in cruiser 9-12 yrs
Hayden Wright 6th in cruiser 13-14 yr
The top 6 results from each round contribute to the club’s overall ranking, where we achieved 11th place. I’m sure that next year will be even better for the Nottingham Outlaws and we will make it into the top 10. We have the riders who can do it.
The club’s race team partnership with Team Bunneys has also been a big factor this year. Many of the club’s riders are supported by Team Bunneys who have created a very special and unique team structure. Unlike the small trade teams who pick and choose the best riders they can from anywhere they can, Team Bunneys is integrated with the Nottingham Outlaws. The team provides support for a large number of riders, even at Regional level. The idea is that the team helps to develop and support riders from the grass roots, putting something into the sport at the club level. This works well for everyone, the club, the team, the riders and their parents too.

Outlaws Summer Series - Round 6 - cancelled
Sorry, but tonight’s club race has been cancelled. We only need a sharp shower to delay racing and we will not get finished before it gets dark. The weather forecast on bbc weather looks very poor. The race has been rescheduled for next Thursday, 19th August. Registration will close at 6:30 sharp and racing will start at 6:45. Please try and register early if you can.
On that day, there is also a Nottingham Council event taking place in the park next to the track. All riders are invited to come along and take part in promoting the club. The club gazebo will be in the park and gates will be set up early too, so that we can demonstrate BMX racing.

Outlaws Summer Series - Round 1
Oh Dear - it just got too dark too quickly.
The run-off, the semi-final and the finals will be run on Sunday.
The plan for Sunday is to have registration operating as per normal. Registration closes at 11:30am and racing starts as soon as everything has been entered into the computer. We will start with Friday's remaining races, then move on to Sunday moto's etc. Hopefully the Friday races can commence at 12:00ish and will be completed in about an hour.

Results from the first National
The first two National races took place at Cheddar last weekend and we had 24 Nottingham Outlaws riders joining in the fun. We had riders in sevaeral different teams, representing Redline, Intense, Urbanair and the club's main team, Team Bunneys. Team Bunneys aim to include a large number of club riders, rewarding those who show commitment with a place on the team. It's unusual, and really great, to see such an inclusive race team with such a range of abilities within the team.
The results for all the riders are detailed below and it is clear to see that we have many more riders making it into the A-finals this year. Outstanding results came from Josh Tucker(Team Bunneys) in his first ever national and riding on flat pedals, Lewis Locker (Intense), Ben Carnill (Team Bunneys) , Louis Coxon (Team Bunneys) and Ryan Spick (Team Bunneys) look to have stepped up their game this year. Fraser Dudley(Team Bunneys) and Ewan Towle (Urbanair) made it into their first ever A-finals and Nicole Edge(Urbanair) made into both A-finals. Louis Gray-Blest(Team Bunneys) had a swollen left hand after breaking a bone two weeks previously, but still managed to get into both A-finals. Jordan Perry (intense) and Harry Gray-Blest (Team Bunneys) both looked sharp but Jordan crashed in his A-final on Sunday and Harry crashed while in 2nd place in the Saturday Semi-final.
Looking forward to the next National at Derby on May 14/15/16th

All Set for Midlands Regional
Everything is ready for the Midlands Regional at Nottingham this Sunday. We are hoping for good weather and a huge turnout. In addition to the 33 BMX and cruiser classes, we are also running a mtb class and an old school class this year. Registration is meant to be 10:00 - 11:30 but as it is the first round of the series, please don't be surprised if registration takes a bit longer than normal. We have tried to prepare as much as possible and hope to be using two laptops on the day, to speed up the registration process. No doubt numbers will be up again on last year so we could easily get over 200 riders.
Trophies on the day for Novice riders.

Race Report - Nottingham Winter Round 4
The weather was sunny and the track was dry for the 4th round of the Nottingham Outlaws Winter Series 105 riders battled it out in 7 different race classes. The ‘7 and unders’ had 11 riders and was dominated by Edward Pole who is clearly getting better with each race. He is now in danger of running away with the series. Brandon Miles took 2nd place with 5yr old Owen Scattergood there in 3rd place.
With Nathan Wood opting to ride up a class, the 8-9 year olds category has been left wide open. There were 10 riders in this class with some good results for the girls. Kaya Clay took the win, being chased hard by Bradley Miles. Ellisa Bradford and Harry Restall tied for 3rd place.
The 10-12 age group was very competitive with 23 riders, the same as last month. The racing was intense with riders exchanging honours in the motos, Bit Jonathan Eastwood was far and away the most consistent, taking the overall win, with a very impressive looking Taylor Johnson having to settle for 2nd place. Brooke Shayler was on form all day long, but had to settle for 3rd place in the final.
The 13-15 category was ripped apart by a new rider from Rotherham, Josh Steer. Harry Gray-Blest looked good in 2nd place, while the competition for 3rd was intense. After taking all the moto points into account, the fast improving Louis Coxon got 3rd.
Just like last month, the 16+ category was all about two riders. Grant Hill (British Champion) and Jordan Perry (who lives just a stones throw from the track) are both on the same team, Intense-Route55. Unfortunately, Jordan had a huge accident on the big triple, while practicing before the final. He recovered well and raced the final, still managing to get the 2nd place, with Grant Hill way ahead in 1st. Jordan Gould (Sheffield), another new rider took the 3rd spot. It was good to see Jack Bloor (Derby) back on the bike after a big fall at the British Championships back in September.
30+ open category and the 16+ cruiser categories were combined. Martin Brown continues to rack up the points while back in 2nd place, Adrian Jackson is improving fast and looks good for 2010.
The next club race is Sunday, 4th April. Registration closes at 11:30am.
There is also a Midlands Regional race on Sunday 28th March which will see all the best riders from Telford up to Sheffield, descending on the Nottingham track to battle it out for round 1 of the 2010 Midlands Summer Series.
Coaching and training takes place every Saturday morning at 9:30.New riders are very welcome.

After that we can make a strat on the resurfacing. The resurfacing work will continue on Subnday, starting at 10:00am. Nottingham Outlaws Winter Series Round 3
The January race was cancelled because of the snow, so with lots of riders hungry for some racing action, The 3rd round of the Nottingham Outlaws Winter Series saw another record turnout for a Nottingham club race with 107 riders. As with round 2, there were lots of new riders having their first ever go at a BMX race. The racing was fast and furious despite the cold conditions, which didn’t seem to put anyone off. There were 12 riders in the 7 and under category, with Owen Camm (Urbanair) winning the final, getting the better of an impressive looking Edward Pole who really seems to have stepped up in class since the last club race back in December. Loys Sharp was knocked back into 3rd place but continues to lead the series.
Nathan Wood, just returned from Belgium, ripped up the 8-9 yrs category. There was no stopping him as he took maximum points on the day, with TJ Baldwin junior, who travelled all the way from the South-West for the Nottingham race, took second place.
The 10-12 age group was very competitive with 23 riders and some close racing to boot. Jonathan Eastwood took the honours in the 10-12 age group with Taylor Johnson taking second place. Brooke Shayler rode very well indeed, mixing it up with the boys and taking 3rd place.
The 13-15 category was extremely tough, with a number of top-class younger riders racing up. Ben Carnill (Bunneys Bikes) took the win from an impressive looking Lewis Locker (Intense-Route55). Braden Bradford was back in 5th, but continues to lead the series.
The 16+ category was all about two riders. Grant Hill (British Champion) and Jordan Perry (who lives just a stones throw from the track) are both on the same team, Intense-Route55. Grant is one year older than Jordan, and just got the better of him on the day. The racing was breathtaking with both riders giving it their all and jumping everything on the track including the huge triple step up on the third straight. Jordan still leads the series but this likely to go all the way to the wire. Exciting stuff.
30+ open category was dominated by Jamie Boness. We think he should take the plunge and ride in 16+, though after watching Jordan and Grant, it’s easy to understand his choice. There was some close racing behind him with Richard Camm and Michael Gough fighting it out for 2nd and 3rd.
The Cruiser category was all about the Southwest hero, TJ Baldwin. His incredible jumping antics took the crowd’s breath away as he pulled some tricks jumping the big stuff on the third straight. He always seemed to have a clear lead, though Martin Brown got close to him on a couple of occasions, and actually managed to win the A-final. TJ still had a great time though and we hope he returns for another bash.
The next race is Sunday, 7th March. Registration closes at 11:30am.
Coaching and training takes place every Saturday morning at 9:30.
New riders are very welcome.

Track Maintenance weekend - Feb 20/21
The track maintenance day will be Sat and Sun 20/21 Feb. On the saturday we will have a digger and a dumper to move all the dolomite around the site. Then, in the afternoon we need as many folks as possible to come along and help resurface the track. We will work in teams of 3 or 4, spreading the dolmite and compacting it into place. We will have enough whackers for 4 teams so we should be able to get the entire track done in a weekend if we have enough people to help.
Please come along and help if you are able.
Saturday 12:00 - 17:00
Sunday 09:30 - 17:00 (if we need that long)
Big thanks to Martin Seddon who has offered us the free loan of a digger.
PS - Don't forget that we have a regional race at Nottingham on March 28th so we need to get everything good and ready.
