Sprint Training - Intervals

Can't find much else, apart from  what 've just sent you.

are you after specific info on doing sprints? I do them in blocks. Not sure if Kelvin would recommend something a bit different

Warm up - this should take at least 10 minutes and should build up to the point where you are really going for it.
Then take it easy for a few minutes, keeping the legs moving.

Do a sprint (should last for just a few seconds, say 20 metres) roll back rest for about a minute.
Then repeat
Do three or four sprints.

rest for 5 minutes, cycling around a bit to keep the legs warmed up.

do another block of sprints - and rest

do another block of sprints - and rest

then maybe -
do another block of sprints - and rest

make the sprints longer for the last block of sprints. Make the recovery time between each of these sprints a bit longer.
Stop if your legs are blown. It will be better the next time.

uphill sprints are a good idea this time of year to build up strength, but you must be well warmed up. Also maybe do a couple of weeks of downhill sprints first if you've not been doing much for a while.

Focus more on downhill sprints from February onwards, to build up leg speed.

Have a protein/carb mix afterwards, and perhaps at bedtime too.
Glutamine peptides work well for some people to speed up recovery.
